Obviously, I dont mean “improperly” by Oppo standards. I am just referring to “normal” people standards out there in the real world. I havent seen my Miata in a couple of weeks now so I was looking at some pictures to reminisce. Then I realized how many times I have taken that car down a dirt road because “why not??” and that this is a defining aspect of why I enjoy that stupid car. So, post your pictures of your cars being used “improperly”.
Oppo meet in the snow
God damn, i forgot i had these rice as fuck wheels...

I haven’t taken pictures of every Avis car I’ve rented, but trust me they were ALL improperly used. Especially the 5-speed Nissan I rented for two weeks in Costa Rica

“Smart cars can’t tow anything!”
Middle finger.
“Smart cars are too tiny to even carry groceries!”
Middle finger.
“That can’t possibly be good in the snow!”
Two middle fingers.
And maybe soon:
“That can’t offroad!”
Middle finger from above.

Oh man. I only have one car, so she has been everywhere with me. I used her as a pizza delivery vehicle, which took me down many many off road excursions. This beat up my roadster a bit and is why I stopped doing that as a second job. No real pictures to illustrate these adventures aside one to illustrate snow/ice season driving. Which I always surprise the hell out of people when I show up in my roadster in weather that people in suvs are afraid to go out in. Such a well balanced car though so long as the snow isn’t too deep and it isn’t 100% ice I have been golden.
Also why haven’t you seen your car in so long??

First picture is the *correct* way to use a Miata. After a year of that.... I decided to do things the wrong way.

Mazda’s do great in the snow. As long as there isn’t too much.

That looks like an utter riot. I wouldn’t be nearly as brave as you (given how low the Z is), but I’m glad that someone does this.
Also, great use of Ratatat.

F irewood In a 300sd, not pictured are the times I removed the sc400 passenger seat and moved; logs/firewood , a dirt bike, 5000watt generator, a bumper, a full set of rims.

Ugh, second time this week I’ve regretted not taking pictures of my Corolla at the top of a steep dirt road where everyone else (who all drove there in SUVs & CUVs) asked me “how did you get that car up here?”

I drive my straight piped Golf under the speed limit and keep to the middle or right lane.

heh, i pre-ran the road top to bottom to make sure there were no big bumps or traffic
. Then i had a nice little picnic
where the outside shots were taken, and
then
i bombed the road (really just a little bit of power oversteer every now and then.
)
But yeah, RWD on dirt is highly underrated when it comes to putting a smile on ones face.

When you live in the country, gravel and dirt roads are the norm. I’ve seen everything from a chevette to a corvette covered with gravel dust. When we were doing Scouts, my WRX was my camping car, much tneeded the chagrin of the other scouting dads in their trucks. Of course, the kids loved to ride with me in the “zippy” car!

Yes, you are the spirit animal of "improper" use of a Miata.

I have done this too many times back east when I had snow tires . I plan on heading up to Mammoth on a nice sunny day with the Miata eventually. I always love the onlookers I get when I pull into a snow covered ski lot. It even saves me time since I don't have to get dressed at the mountain.

A couple weekends ago I was camping in the smokey mountains with my boyfriend and the GTI saw more gravel forest service roads and dirt than most pickups do nowadays.
